Open to anyone that may be interested in participating in the following candlelight
vigil being planned to express condolences and reflections on the recent earthquake tragedy that took place in China. The event is being organized by Pearl Fu who can be reached by calling 580-0341 or by email at pearlfu@aol.com if you desire additional information on the event. China is holding three days of mourning for the victims of the earthquake.beginning Monday. We here in Roanoke would like to hold a candlelight vigil to express our convalescence and reflections to the tragedy. Century Plaza: Home of the Roanoke Valley Sister cities Sculptures. Lijiang, China will be the gathering point. between Kirk and Church Ave. (Behind Center in the Square and across from the old Fire Station) Wednesday, May 21st at 7 PM Program: Chinese Music specifically composed for the occasion Reflections by Various religious leaders and individuals. Dr. Bob Roth President of RVSC, Pearl Fu: Founder/chair of Sister City Lijiang, China, Grandfather was from Sichuan where the earthquake occurred. Daughter Colette is near there on a Fullbright Scholarship. Rebecca Chang ,Vice chair of Sister city China. Hometown Chengdu, where earthquake struck. Mien Wang, enthusiastic supporter and Tai Chi master Leaders of various religion and beliefs Public encouraged to speak their thoughts Lighting of candles and prayers! Donations deeply appreciated.
