Old Southwest Board Positions Available - We Need You !!

A new year is coming fast and the board of OSW is looking for a few people to volunteer. We have 2 or 3 openings on the board.
For anyone who likes the changes they are seeing in the community, or for those who would like to see something different. Here is your chance!
Just to give you an idea of things this current board has accomplished...

*Placed 2nd for our Social Revitalization Efforts at NUSA (Nationally)
*Helped reduce crime in one year (OSW) 30 percent
*Awarded grant monies for street lighting, home repairs, OSW events, etc.
*Initiated a Preservation Award Program to promote good stewardship
*Helped establish Dog Park
*Re-landscaped park fountain surround
*Achieved highest Parlor Tour revenue in history of tour
*Painted three homes for neighbors in need
*Organized & executed all neighborhood meetings and events to hear concerns & for community
*Gish House & Gazebo painted with more attractive colors to promote rentals & events
*Became members of tourism bureau to promote historic interest
*Started traditions such as neighborhood yard sales & annual Easter egg hunt, monthly food with friends
*St Patrick’s Day Parade entry (we have won a trophy every year!)
*Honored employees of the city as well as residents in OSW with a catered dinner event known as our City/Citizen Appreciation Dinner

These are some of the accomplishments we've been able to make in Old Southwest. If this sounds like something you would like to be involved with, please let us know. We would be thrilled to share new ideas and make things even better for our great neighborhood.
