Default 2008 Parlor Tour-

Hey Folks-
I wanted to thank a few of the neighbors and friends that volunteered for the parlor tour this year; especially Jeff Campbell, Curtis Rupe, Jimmy Mills, David Windel, Dee'Anna Wright, Kara Smith, Anna McLaugliln, and Bob Clement. These people cheerfully greated the tour takers and offered curb side service which allowed them to stay in their warm cars while these volunteers were in the bitter cold, and trust me, Saturday night and Sunday afternoon were very cold. Not one complaint was heard- Just very jolly spirits and good wishes were given, I thank them for their dedication. Thanks to the volunteers at the Gish House and welcomed the public with cider and cookies- Jan and Edna created a cool poster board with information about where the money from the parlor tour goes and we appreciate that too-

Fred and Peggy Styles along with the help of Jean McKay offered our sponsors a top notch reception on Friday and Marla and Dan Robertson along with Joey and Ramy Klein and Paul Economy treated the property owners to a delicious Sunday brunch prior to the afternoon tour- Thanks to all of them- The property owners deserve a round of applause as well; the properties were amazing and the crowds loved each of them, due in part because they were all special in their own way- Of course our cash sponsors were wonderful to us this year and they deserve so much gratitude- Wendy Blair and Kate Cash brought in over $2000 for the Silent Auction; these ladies worked hard and it paid off!

Many thanks to Jim Haynes who was "Johnny on the spot" with his dump truck going around the neighborhood and cleaning up piles of items that some residents put out after the city did a fantastic job of doing a clean sweep of the neighborhood, just for the parlor tour- We have a great place to call home in Old Southwest and that is due to the terrific neighbors- We raised over $15,000 this year! Plans are underway for the 30th anniversary- I am chairing the event for 2009 and will need help! There are many things that need to take place and I can use your help. I am hoping to get a committee together in January- Come to the January neighborhood meeting and sign up!
Thanks again-
Tim
